Nostalgic Images Direct was established in 1993 under the name “The Art Cottage” and initially only imported full colour Antique Postcards from England to sell in a retail outlet in Tasmania. As demand for memorabilia grew The Art Cottage began to reproduce many imported postcards cards under licence locally as well as introduce an Nostalgic reproduction range of Iconic Australian Brand’s. This growth lead to selling direct to the public via the Internet & magazine advertisements and wholesaling to many gift and craft shops throughout Australia.

The renaming of “The Art Cottage” to “Nostalgic Images Direct” took place in early 2009 to coincide with the joining of the Stores Online network and aiming to appeal to a more international market.
